STRATCOM J61 Sr Information Systems Engineer** (Offutt AFB, NE)

Job Description:
Provide systems engineer advisory and assistance services support to USSTRATCOM J61 Architecture and Engineering Division. This is a Mon – Fri, 8 – 5 role.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Design, sustain, modernize, and integrate enterprise-wide compute, storage, and backup solutions
  • Utilize new techniques and software-defined approaches for Infrastructure and Platform as a Service (IaaS/PaaS) structures
  • Manage operations of data processing, storage, and backup systems supporting USSTRATCOM infrastructure and business processes
  • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and regulations, including DoD 8500 series, CNSSI 1253, and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Provide technical oversight on system engineering processes, change control, and configuration management
  • Participate in system lifecycle planning, capability modernization, and IT rationalization efforts
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including configuration management databases (CMDBs) and IT roadmaps
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as an IT Systems Engineer (SE).
  • Experience must include Requirements Tradeoff, Cost Estimation, Technical Assessments, Technical Planning, Configuration Control Boards, Capabilities Based Assessments, Integrated Baseline Review, Lifecycle Sustainment Planning, Information Assurance / Cybersecurity, Requirements Traceability, Systems Engineering Plan, Work Breakdown Structure, Technical Audits
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience or documented training in designing, deploying, and maintaining systems and capabilities
  • Must be able to obtain certification meeting 8140 series requirements within 6-months of notification
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience demonstrating written and oral communication skills including developing and presenting complex written products and oral briefings to senior leaders at the O-6/GS-15 level or higher
  • Senior-level specialized knowledge, skillset, and experience in creating, sustaining, modernizing and integrating enterprise-wide compute, storage, and backup solutions
  • Experience utilizing new techniques and software-defined approaches for infrastructure and PaaS/IaaS structures
  • Must possess an active intermediate or higher technical certification in Information Systems Engineering, such as: CompTIA Server+, International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) ASEP, Microsoft Certified Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Certified Storage Networking Expert

Education Requirements:
