Position Overview: The Enterprise Systems Security Engineer provides secure engineering design, integration, and validation of enterprise IT systems across Windows, Exchange, SharePoint, and SCCM environments for our Office of Naval Intelligence sponsor in Suitland MD. This position ensures compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Requirements Guides (SRGs), supports RMF/ATO processes, and develops security baselines that protect mission-critical information systems.
Responsibilities:
Engineer, integrate, and secure enterprise systems including Windows servers/clients, Exchange, and SharePoint.
Design and enforce STIG and SRG-compliant system configurations across all enterprise environments.
Develop and implement Group Policy Objects (GPOs), scripts, and automation tools to enforce security compliance.
Manage SCCM for secure patch deployment, compliance enforcement, and system reporting.
Integrate Splunk into system environments for log aggregation, security auditing, and compliance validation.
Collaborate with ISSOs, cybersecurity teams, and system owners to support ATO packages and RMF compliance.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation activities for supported systems.
Required Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance.
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
5+ years of experience in Windows Server/Client administration and secure configuration.
Demonstrated experience with STIG/SRG implementation and compliance validation.
Hands-on experience with Exchange, SharePoint, SCCM or other enterprise systems and environments.
Strong understanding of RMF, accreditation processes, and cybersecurity best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Splunk engineering and dashboard/report development.
Knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation of security controls.
Prior experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community environments.
Work Environment & Conditions: Work is performed in secure, classified environments requiring on-site support. Standard office conditions with occasional after-hours or weekend work for mission-critical changes.
