Job Description: FGS, LLC is seeking a motivated Junior Electronic Security Systems Technician to support the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in Suitland, MD. This entry-level role provides hands-on training and professional growth opportunities in the design, installation, and maintenance of enterprise-grade access control, intrusion detection, and video management systems. The successful candidate will join a dedicated physical security team, working under the guidance of senior technicians and engineers to deliver integrated security solutions in a mission-critical environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with site surveys and system requirement gathering
Support the installation of physical security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems
Perform basic cable pulls, terminations, and equipment mounting
Assist with preventive maintenance tasks on security systems
Learn to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and system drawings
Support troubleshooting and repair activities under supervision
Maintain accurate records of service calls, installations, and maintenance actions
Collaborate with senior technicians, vendors, and contractors on integration efforts
Provide customer support for end-users, including equipment orientation and basic training
Participate in on-the-job training to develop advanced technical skills
Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship and active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance
High School Diploma or equivalent
5 years or less of experience in electronic/physical security systems, electrical work, or related technical field
Basic knowledge of tools and test equipment used in electronic security installations
Willingness to learn IP networking concepts and system integration basics
Ability to follow technical instructions, wiring diagrams, and schematics
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with supervision and as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
Hands-on experience with security or low-voltage system installation (internship, trade school, or military training)
Familiarity with access control platforms (e.g., Mercury-based, SALTO)
Exposure to video management systems or surveillance equipment
Prior work experience in the Intelligence Community, military, or other secure facilities
Basic understanding of life safety or building systems integration
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent (technical training or certifications preferred)
