Job Description:
The Messaging & Collaboration Systems Administrator will support the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) by managing, securing, and optimizing enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms. This role ensures the availability, performance, and reliability of Microsoft Exchange Server, SharePoint, and multi-factor authentication systems including RSA SecureID. The ideal candidate will have experience in administering enterprise-scale messaging systems, identity services, and user collaboration tools within a secure government environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Administer Microsoft Exchange Server infrastructure including mailbox databases, transport services, connectors, and high availability configurations.
  • Manage SharePoint environments including user permissions, content services, workflows, and patch management.
  • Implement and support RSA multi-factor authentication (MFA) systems and tokens, managing user provisioning and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain user accounts, distribution groups, and related objects in Active Directory and Exchange.
  • Monitor system health and performance; perform routine maintenance and apply updates/patches to messaging and collaboration systems.
  • Assist with incident response and troubleshooting user issues related to email, SharePoint, and authentication.
  • Work closely with security, networking, and other IT teams to ensure interoperability and compliance with DoD/IC standards.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to system configurations, standard operating procedures, and change management.
Required Qualifications:
  • DoD 8140.03-M (Formerly DoD 8570) Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT-II) certification (CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience administering Microsoft Exchange Server and SharePoint in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with RSA SecureID token and MFA system administration.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, SMTP, and related core IT services.
  • Familiarity with DoD security requirements and Information Assurance (IA) practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate or similar certification.
  • Experience with Office 365 hybrid deployments.
  • Prior experience supporting IT systems within the Department of Defense or Intelligence Community.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks.
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field preferred.
Security Clearance Requirements:
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance at time of application.
