Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 ($31.25/hr to $36.05/hr)
Shipping/Receiving Clerk performs clerical and physical tasks in connection with shipping, receiving and inventory of materials. Day-to-day, routine tasks include: follows established guidelines to prepare, package, ship and receive materials. Shipping duties typically involve the following: development of material lists and procurement of materials required to fabricate and assemble wooden shipping containers for transport of sensitive electronic equipment. Comparing items and quantities of goods gathered for shipment against documents; ensuring that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information, and loaded into transporting vehicles, and preparing and keeping records of goods shipped, e.g., bills of lading. Receiving duties typically involve the following: verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records, checking for damaged goods, insuring that goods are appropriately identified for projects and tracking. Preparing and keeping records of goods received aspects of technical supply management work, to include: tracking, receipt, inventory, storage, cataloging, and transportation related to government furnished and contractor acquired materials. Ensures corporate and contractual supply management operations are followed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure material is received, stored, inventoried, and shipped in accordance with contractual and corporate guidelines and processes.
- Knowledge of corporate and contractual material management guidelines and processes.
- Prepare items for shipment to customers and/or return to supplier.
- Manage, maintain and update record keeping systems and mark material with part numbers, date and lot codes, revisions, etc.
- Fabrication of wooden shipping creates and containers to house sensitive electronic equipment during shipping/transport.
- Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories.
- Assist with shipping and receiving materials. Unloading trucks, checking in material to ensure receipts it match purchase orders.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas utilizing vehicles, forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program. Oversee and assist in counting of physical inventory of all material.
- Maintain a safe workplace, identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to Supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Self-starter/motivated individual
- Ability to read engineering drawings to assemble shipping creates and containers.
- Ability to load and unload material utilizing forklift.
- Ability to assemble shipping creates and containers.
- Detailed experience working with and operating wood working power tools.
- Ability to work within and manage a flexible team environment with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of project support staff and stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task among several projects while being detail oriented.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, as well as establish and maintain a strong customer focused working relationship.
- Ability to work outside normal working hours (0800-1600) and weekends as required.
- Hold a valid Operator Forklift License
- Detailed knowledge of Hazardous materials guidelines and requirements.
