Warehouse Specialist performs all aspects of technical supply management work, to include: tracking, receipt, inventory, storage, cataloging, and transportation related to government furnished materials. Ensures contractual supply management operations are followed. Resolves logistics and material management problems and supply actions. Supports contract and program requirements to ensure compliance.  Supports all material control and logistics functions related to material management and operations of DoD project. 


Primary Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Ensure material is received, stored, inventoried, and shipped in accordance with contractual guidelines and processes. 
  • Prepare items for shipment to customers and/or return to supplier. 
  • Documents all shipments and material transfers utilizing form DD-1149. 
  • Manage, maintain and update record keeping systems and mark material with part numbers, date and lot codes, revisions, etc. 
  • Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations. 
  • Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications. 
  • Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders. 
  • Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories. 
  • Assist with shipping and receiving unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to receipts.   
  • Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas. 
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department. 
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.  
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.


Required Qualifications
  • Ability to receive and maintain a clearance. 
  • Self-starter/motivated individual 
  • Ability to work within and manage a flexible team environment with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal with all levels of project support staff and stakeholders. 
  • Ability to multi-task among several projects while being detail oriented. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, as well as establish and maintain a strong customer focused working relationship. 
  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain a consistent daily work schedule. 
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel and Word is required. 
     
Desired Qualifications
  • Obtain certification to operate forklift within 2 months of employment
  • Experience with the administration, receiving, transferring, and reporting with material tracking software

Education Requirements
  • High school or equivalent

Years of Experience Required
  • 5 years of logstics and warehouse experience required.

Security Clearance Requirements: 
  • Secret
