Job Description:
The Information Operations (IO) Messaging Planner will provide messaging planning expertise to support Vandegrift Team (VT) objectives in support of Information Operations.  The IO Messaging Planner will assist the team with the development of well-written messages for internal/external audiences to ensure they are nested with Department of Navy and Marine Corps Strategies.   The planner will ensure that DC I messages are synchronized with other Deputy Commandants, Service Components (SCC), and the Department. 
 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Develop well-written messages for internal/external audiences
• Conduct threat-informed, capability-based analysis driving Service, COCOM, Joint Staff, or DOD planning efforts
• Conduct and plan strategies related to integrated deterrence and implementing analytical strategies in support of these efforts

Required Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance; eligible for CAP/SAP/STO access
• 10+ years’ Public Affairs or COMMSTRAT experience
• Graduated service-level/Joint IO planning courses or the award of the Marine Corps 17XX, Army Functional Area-30 MOS, or equivalent
• Demonstrated expertise in the field of PA/COMMSTRAT within Defense roles
• Must have a work history demonstrating success at increasing levels of responsibility and project complexity, including the ability to work with large military staff (e.g., MEF, division, CCMD, etc.) and developing well-crafted messages
• Shall have a comprehensive understanding of PA authorities, good critical thinking and writing skills, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to develop strategic messages

Education Requirements:

• BS/BA in a relevant field or ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in the field of PA may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
